Question: “ Dear Ma-Ryah, I met you at D’s house back in October and I have some follow-up questions to ask you. First of all I want to say thank you for giving the confidence to face my wedding day both without my Father’s physical presence, and while having a flare up of the colitis. I followed all of the instructions and my stomach was almost perfect on the day of the event. I did not think of it or feel it at all. Thank you for that. At the same time, the bleeding is still very bad in the last month and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for healing foods or a particular diet that would be conducive to healing the physical part of the disease. For instance, when you suggested the lavender tea you mentioned to only sweeten with local honey, if I must sweeten it. I wonder if I should avoid sugars in my diet? It is something I have done before with mixed results, but I’m willing to try anything. Also, I am aware that there is still an emotional part and I am trying to work with it. But for the material ~ if you have any suggestions for nutrition, I would follow them closely.

Also, my body seems fed up with the allopathic medical treatments for my colitis. It doesn’t seem to respond to the steroids I am on and I recently developed skin problems which have turned into hives which I am sure is a reaction to a new immunosuppressant I am on. I felt about the same when I was on no medicine at all, minus the side-effects. Is it time to go back to a natural form of healing? Along with this, what kind of diet is the most healing for me right now? Blessings, MW”

Answer: “ God’s Blessings! This is Ma-Ryah from the higher realms of God. First of all, our deepest apology for the linear passing of time since you first submitted your question until it is answered.

We are pleased to know your wedding day was able to be celebrated without fear of the colitis. We would not advise for you to remove all sugars from your diet. We do advice to use as much unrefined and processed sugar as possible, honey being preferable even over raw sugar. We do not advise the use of artificial sugars, especially in your situation. The artificial sugars aggravate the condition of colitis. We do recommend local honey to be used whenever possible though if you are not able to obtain local honey, any honey is beneficial. Not only is it easier for your body to process, it also has soothing abilities and thus able to assist in reducing irritation, inflammation and flare ups.

Yes, as you are aware there are still some emotional aspects to work with and we do know you are doing your best with them. These issues were not created in a day and do require the passing of time to assist bringing them into a state of balance once again.

For the physical, if you choose to consume meat we would recommend the avoidance of red meat when you are having discomfort within your body from the colitis. Also the avoidance of chicken unless organic without chemicals, hormones or toxins of any kind. The consumption of this creates more challenge upon your body at a time it is seeking a balance.

When consuming fruit and vegetables be cautious in the use of broccoli, green cabbage, kelp and endive. You are able to eat these though we advise not to consume them while in discomfort. Any member of the squash family is able to be consumed and found to be beneficial. Avoidance of the tomato, onion, corn. In the fruit family, the most beneficial ones are: peach ~ minus the skin, melons and bananas. We would advise you to avoid apples unless skinned and cooked ~ again remembering to sweeten with honey if you desire sweetening. Also avoid pineapple, orange, cherries and grapes. The grapes may be eaten if first peeled. Be very cautious in the use of any dairy product during a time of imbalance.

In order to assist yourself to know what benefits you and what irritates your system we do advise keeping a nourishment journal. In this record how you are feeling before consuming the food. Check back with yourself within a half hour, then an hour after eating and again record how you are feeling within your body. In the nourishment journal remember you nourish yourself in more ways than eating. Be aware of your emotional self also and record in what ways did you take care of yourself that day, as well as what ways did you not take care of yourself. What did you do to nurture yourself? Were you able to stand with yourself this day, or did you create in a way that betrayed or abandoned yourself?

Also, while you are healing realize the healing or balancing has as many layers as the illness does. We advise the continuance of working with the physician during your healing process. Many humans walk with colitis at this present moment in time. Part of the cause is physical and has to do with the processing of the foods you consume, pollutants, toxins within your world ~ and part has to do with the emotional self. Remember to work with both the first and second chakra energies to assist balance to be achieved in the most harmonic way possible. The first chakra covers the aspects of family, community and global relationships and scripts. The second chakra covers the aspects of how much do you stand in the truth of self, how much or how little do you abandon or betray self in order to please and appease another out of fear of losing their approval or love. It also deals with the aspect of how do you see and know yourself in your sensuality? When an illness is created with it is important to remember to address yourself in body, mind, Soul and Spirit. When you are out of balance in any of these areas your body reflects it by creating an illness so you may see where you are out of balance. Once an illness is manifested and being experienced in the physical sense remember to make use of all assistance available to you. You may combine traditional Western medicine with esoteric medicine. Be sure to remember to communicate with the physician of any herbs being taken along with the medications being prescribed by the physician so a balance is able to be achieved.

Remember the Sacred aspect of self. Meditation, visualization and communication with the Divine also assists in creating the balance. Continue to work with the scripts and emotional self while continuing to address the physical. When you have a flare up of the disease take the necessary steps physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually to create a balance. Soothe self as you would for child. Rub the lower abdomen in a soothing way ~ in gentle circles or in the symbol of the infinity symbol. Hold in the thoughts the knowledge you are Sacred and able to create balance within self. When taking medications given by physician remember to hold it in your hands first, aware of what job it is to do ~ bless and thank the medication for creating the balance it is designed to create and then take the medication. Taking medication with awareness is able to shift how it is received in the body and thus create in the manner it is created to work with your body. If you choose to also work with the nutrition journal you also have more information to share with the physician as well as assist you to know what works well with self and what does not work in a beneficial way.

Remember, we have connected with you and thus you are aware of our energy. Call upon us at any time and we do respond. We support you as you begin to create a healthier and balanced self. That is all... God’s Blessings. Ma-Ryah
